Toddler Sense’s Pet Show – 22nd January 2019

Today has been a Bella day. We had her Toddler Sense class this morning and it had to have been one of her favourites. Today’s theme was pet show.

Like normal when we got to class Bella was straight off into the adventure play. Her favourite bouncy castle was up so she was on that in a flash. I say in a flash she had to come back and find me and Daly as she isn’t able to get on the bouncy castle without a boost.

Anyways, she loves this bouncy castle, it’s an obstacle course with a tunnel, a wall to climb over, and the a wall to climb up to get to the slide. She loves this and spends the whole first half of the session just going on the obstacle course.

Oh and we did a lot of dancing. Bella loves to have a boogie.

We love Toddler Sense when daddy is there. I wasn’t feeling the running around this morning so daddy did it instead. When it was tidy up time to come sit down and do the activities Bella went running off to the other side of the room so Daly had to go catch her.

Like I said today’s theme was Pet Show so everyone got to choose their own pet teddy. Bella chose a little spotty Dalmatian and she loved it. Kept giving it cuddles and kisses. Her doggy also kept licking daddy’s face. So cute.

We did so many different activities this morning. First Bella met her teacher’s dog (a puppet) called Bingo. While all the children were making friends with their own little pets the teacher brought her dog around so they could stroke it. Usually Bella is extremely cautious and doesn’t like things like that but she straight away was giving Bingo strokes and scratching his ears.

Next everyone had to call their pets to dinner with their food bowl by bashing it on the ground. Bella decided it was more fun to roll the bowl or put her dog in it but she did join in a bit calling her doggy. She’s got a thing about pushing things across the room, E.g. cars, bowls.

Once everyone’s pet had been called to dinner it was time for some role play. This was lovely, each child had a bowl, a comb, a ball and a food treat for their pets and then they were just let loose to play. Bella loved combing her dog and then I showed her how to play fetch by rolling the ball and then making her dog chase it. After a few goes showing her she was doing it herself. It was so cute to watch.

We gave our pets a break for a bit while we helped some ducks get down the river to the pond. Bella wanted her dog to join in so kept putting it on the river, a sheet the kids were shaking to get the ducks to move. But she was very good, every time a duck fell off Bella would pick it up and place it back on the river.

The final activity of the day was the pet show. Each pet had a collar and lead and then they went round the adventure play.

Bella wasn’t feeling it to begin with and just wanted to take her dog for a walk but she then got him to complete a few agility tasks like going through the tunnel, walking the balance beams and going down the slide.

Bella really enjoyed today’s session and I’m thinking I might have to make Bella a collar and lead for her toys so she can carry on playing pets at home.

We’ve had another down day at home. Well I say that but I’ve actually managed to get quite a bit done today just nothing exciting and Daly’s been out helping his friend most of the afternoon.

One thing I am happy I’ve finally finished and it has pretty much taken all day, is Bella’s skirt for her birthday party.

It started as her little tutu and a piece of In the Night Garden fabric

And now …..

So glad it’s finally done. Next thing to do is her hair bows but I’m waiting for the ribbon to come in for that. I think I’m gonna insert little mini blogs here and there on how I make things so if you want to give it a go you’ve got some instructions.

Not sure what we’re going to get up to tomorrow, I have an idea but not 100% yet. Hopefully tomorrow’s blog will be up earlier and contain more about our whole day rather than just a little bit but we’ll see.

Anyways, night all and let’s see what adventure tomorrow holds for us

Movie day – 19th January 2019

So proud of myself last night. I got most of my evening jobs done within one hour. I food shopped, got dinner, posted my sister’s birthday card and then posted all of Bella’s birthday party invites. And even had some me time and had a lovely relaxing pampering bath before crashing in bed watching TV.

I seem to have needed a long sleep. I didn’t wake up until gone 12 and when I did wake up it felt like every cell in my body was vibrating. I’m in the process of writing a blog about my Narcolepsy and how it effects me. This muscle/cell vibration thing is part of my Narcolepsy and I think it’s my body telling me I need to either slow down or full on stop.

I’ve been reunited with my baby! God I missed my little one last night. Was lovely having time to myself but I do miss Bella like crazy when she’s at her Grandparents. Apparently she didn’t have a good night. She would only sleep in her Grandmas arms, everytime they tried to put her down she was having none of it.

I’ve managed to get another 2 loads of washing done today lol. I’ve come to the conclusion we need to stop wearing clothes until all the washing is done otherwise it’s a never ending cycle and the washing will never be finished.

We spent our afternoon watching Cars 3. Bella loves her cars so she sat on the floor playing with her cars and garage while enjoying the film. And stealing Grandads snacks. Grandma was getting ready for a night out with the carnival girlies. She’s got dressed up all pretty in her long red evening gown. I was suppose to do her hair but I’ve been too ill today to do much. I felt so bad as I’d promised I’d do it for her. But the whole time I was round there I was curled up in a ball in agony. My doctor seems to think I could have crohns disease but I have yet to get tested. I know it was something my mum wanted me to get done due to the frequency I get stomach pains and feeling ill. It grounds me for the day and makes looking after Bella hard.

Once we were home Bella wanted to watch the Greatest Showman. She loves that film. We spent the evening dancing and singing along with the film. Singing is one of her favourite things to do. We enjoyed our evening dinner of pizza inbetween our dances. Think Bella loves the lifts everytime she’d come up to me and say “up!” After the film Bella decided the ironing board was a boat and was playing on it with her baby. She comes up with some funny ideas but it’s great how imaginative she is.

Once Bella went to bed I popped on Independence Day. One of my favourites. While watching Independence Day I was making giant daisys for Bellas birthday party in February. She’s having an In the Night Garden party so the daisys are for Uppsy Daisys section. Looking forward to giving her such a magical day. Bella helped me draw a couple of the centres of the daisys. She loves to help, she even showed her drawing to the cats.

Anyways, Night all and let’s see what adventures tomorrow has in store for us.

A day of fun – 16th January 2019

First real day of the blog and what have we been up to!

Someone decided that although mummy has wicked insomnia at the moment (and for god knows how long) that it was time to get up and play at 8.30am. Not that early I hear you say, to me that is far to early and normally far too early for Bella as well. We’re talking 9.30am as the earliest we get up and even that sometimes kills me. So we had a slow morning, CBeebies and snuggles on the sofa. I was not moving anytime soon.

Lunchtime’s when it got fun!

Off to the adventure play with not only a one year old but two big kids as well. Why is it adults are more excited for the adventure play than kids?

It was so nice watching Bella run around with her Aunty Rachel and her Daddy while I sat down and how some me time. Of course I had to get involved and Bella dragged me all over the playground with her aunty. Up the steps, over bridges, through tunnels. The good thing was – lots of photos to remember the trip by.

Daly was quite upset he wasn’t allowed to go down any of the slides, his argument – he needed to test them before Bella went down them. However Bella managed to go down the big red slide, much to my surprise, all by herself with no panic. She’d been terrified last time we visited but this time was full of confidence.

We love coming here and it was a brilliant find while mum was in the hospice. Allowing Bella to have some fun and mummy daughter time before hanging out at a boring hospice.

The big kids loved the adventure play as well. Both running around all over the place. Every time I looked up I could either hear Daly roaring over the other side of the building followed by Bella’s screams or Rachel chasing Bella across the the nets over head. A fully enjoyable day had by us all.

May not have been the most adventurous of our days out but it was nice to continue what mum started.

After running around and all that excitement we had a nice chilled evening at home. Daly watching sanctuary, Bella playing cleaners and me cooking the dinner. We will be having a slow evening, maybe a bit of TV, some popcorn, probably some PlayStation action.

Anyways, night all and let’s see what adventure tomorrow holds for us
