We’re going Christmas shopping today. It’s the last day Daly is off before Christmas. So we are off to Canterbury to get some shopping done. Daly had a last few people to buy for and I was still struggling to find a present for Cathy.
Instead of taking Bella shopping with us we dropped her off with Grandma and Grandad. That was probably a good think as we ended up with not too long to shop. That’s the problem with leaving your shopping to a Sunday.
We made it to Canterbury at half two and had a quick look around in city. We didn’t find anything we wanted but I made a quick stop in Poundland to grab a few charging cables. My phone only had 20% and I was meeting my sister later so I wanted some charge. The charging cable we had in the car was saying it was going to take 6 hours and 40 minutes to charge my phone. Not great. So I grabbed a cheap cable from Poundland as they normally do the job.
Turns out I was right, when I got back in the car, the Poundland charging cable said my phone was going to be fully charged in an hour and a half.
On the way back to the car I popped into the best fish and chip place in Canterbury in my opinion. It’s down one of the little side streets that heads towards Canterbury Castle (yes there is one but don’t bother asking anyone, hardly anyone seems to know it exists) and it’s a few doors down from the Canterbury Tales. I got my chips and then we headed back to the car to move on.
We took a quick trip to TK Max to see if they had what I wanted but still no luck. Liam and I ended up losing Daly in the shop. We had to shout Marco so we could get the faint reply of Polo from the back of the shop where Daly was hiding with the tools.
We regrouped and got back in the car. I was meeting Rachel at 5pm when she finished work so we still had ages as it was only 3.30pm. We headed over to Rachel’s work. We popped into Sainsburys to see if we could find any ideas for presents but we only got lucky with one. Liam picked up some dinner and I bought some pain killers for my head. I swear I always have a headache.
We headed back to the car so I could sit in there and charge my phone. While we were sitting we decided to head over to McDonalds. Daly and I had a burger and I grabbed a coffee. I love seasonal hot drinks, it’s a shame I haven’t been to Starbucks.
Eventually 5pm rolled around and I met up with Rachel. We were off to the cinema to enjoy the 25th anniversary of Friends. I had really wanted to go on Wednesday but we were in London. We pulled up to the cinema and hit the concession stand. I had already bought the tickets online so I had them on my phone.
Now I think I’ve worked out which sister out of me and Rachel is the pig, it’s Rachel. I ordered a medium popcorn and a medium coke and Rachel ordered a large popcorn and a large drink. Hers was like twice the size of mine. It was huge.
We were a bit early to go into the film so we sat in the entertainment playing on our phones and eating our popcorn. We were looking up upcoming films. I discovered the new Ghostbusters film which looked interesting.
Eventually it was time for us to go into the screen. We found our seats and settled down. We were going to see The one with Chandler in a box, The one with Ross’s wedding part 2, The one where everyone finds out and The one where Ross got high.
You can tell the audience warmed up as we made our way through the episodes. Obviously everyone joined in with the clapping in the intro but as we made it through the episodes more people started quoting the episodes. It was nice to be surrounded by like minded people. It was nice to have no one moaning at me that I was quoting the episodes.
Rachel and I had a wonderful time at the cinema. It was nice to do just something us two. We don’t get to do that often.
Until next time
