Bella started our morning playing hide and seek. I had opened her stair gate before I went into the bathroom. When I came out of the bathroom it turned out Bella was already downstairs but hiding. I could hear her giggling and discovered a lump under a fleece blanket on the sofa. Just as I was about to find her, she jumped out and shouted boo! She did have a sense of humour this morning it was cute.
She carried on playing peek a boo with me as the morning went on but it was soon time to get ready for the day. Bella was off to her grandparents today. She was excited to spend the day with Grandma and Grandad.
I got her all dressed in her little outfit and then sorted her bag out. Bella was adamant that she wanted to wear her own backpack so I placed it on her back, grabbed a coat and off we went to Grandma and Grandad’s.
I dropped Bella off with Dawn and Grant and then headed home. I wasn’t really sure what I was planning on doing with my day but once I was home I decided I was going to take a walk into town. I wanted some cleaning supplies and I didn’t want to try and park the car in town.
I walked down into town enjoying my music as I went. The main place I wanted to go to was Poundstretcher. I had run out of Elbow Grease spray and wanted to pick up some more. I’ve been trying to stay on top of the tidying but I didn’t have any spray for the kitchen surfaces and Elbow Grease is the best spray ever. It really can cut through everything.
Once I’d visited Poundstretcher I was still feeling a bit low so I decided to go get myself a Costa.
Char surprised me as she called out to me from behind the till. I had been in my own little world. I swear I seem to be there quite a bit at the moment. Turns out Char was working on getting my order ready. I had ordered a tea cake and a latte. That is my standard order. Once it was ready, I went and sat upstairs and enjoyed some more me time.
If I’d realised I was going to be heading to Costa I would have taken my iPad with me. It’s the easiest way to blog as I go but instead I was stuck typing my blog on my phone instead. I hate blogging on my phone now. It used to be so easy but for some reason now, I am unable to add photos to my blog from my phone.
I enjoyed my Costa and then decided it was time to make a move home. It was a pleasant walk back. Once I was home I chilled for about 30 minutes and then I tried to sort out what we were having for dinner. Daly had said he wanted to have spaghetti bolognese for dinner but I was planning on seeing Zach and Cathy this afternoon. Daly was picking up Oli and Rachel from the Eurostar so he wasn’t going to be home until 7pm but it takes about an hour and a half to make my bolognese.
Now I’ve recently been toying with the idea of buying a slow cooker and it turned out Daly wanting spag bol had pushed my hand. I jumped on to the Argos app and found one I liked. Annoyingly though the app wouldn’t sign into my account so I was unable to reserve it. So instead I had to jump in the car and head down to argos myself.
Within a couple of minutes I was bringing home my new slow cooker. You know your an adult when you get excited about buying kitchen appliances. I got it home, set it all up and then set about making my bolognese.
It was so easy to use, the slow cooker. I managed to prep all the ingredients and set them cooking in the slow cooker. It was nice knowing that our dinner would be fully cooked by the time we got back from Cathy and Zach’s. All I would have to do is cook the pasta. I can’t wait to use it for other recipes as well. I just need to find some that work.
At 4pm I headed over to Zach and Cathy’s to chat. I knew Dawn and Grant were bringing Bella over as they had said they were popping round as well. When I got there Bella was tapping away on the computer. She sure loves that computer.
As the afternoon went on, Bella slowly destroyed Cathy’s living room. They have a toy cupboard and Bella was slowly getting the whole contents out. She did stamping, played pop up pirate, playing with animals, colouring, building a mini train set. She was all over the place.
Zach soon turned up with cakes, Bella settled down next to him to enjoy her little cup cake. It was nice that there was a small break in the destruction but it didn’t last long.
It was soon time for Dawn and Grant to go home, Grant was getting hungry. When Dawn and Grant had left Bella decided she wanted to get out the chess set. I thought she was going to set all the piece up in lines or all on the white or black squares but no. Instead she used her imagination. The chess pieces were in fact hair bows. She was also using other items to pretend to be a brush and a hair dryer.
First Bella started with doing the babies hair. She would brush their hair, then blow dry it before placing a ‘bow’ in their hair. She was switching between the baby Cathy was looking after and the one Zach was holding. This continued until Bella decided the babies were going to fight and knock each others bows off by head butting each other.
When that seemed to have run its course, Bella turned her attention to doing Cathy’s hair. It was wonderful to see her being so imaginative.
Daly rang me to tell me he was at the train station so I knew I had about an hour before Daly was home. We said our goodbyes to Cathy and Zach and headed home so I could finish the spag bol.
Daly timed it pretty well. As soon as I got in, I put the pasta on in the hopes it would be ready for when Daly got home so we could sit down to eat dinner as a family. About 5 minutes before Daly got home, Bella was starting to get grumpy. The pasta was ready so I dished up Bella’s dinner and sat her at the table. Daly quickly pulled up just as I was dishing up my own dinner.
We had a lovely dinner together as a family and I can safely say the slow cooker was a good purchase.
Anyways, night all and let’s see what adventures tomorrow holds for us.
